I actually think that this is a good thing. You get to express your thoughts and how you personally view certain things. It might bring people out of their comfort zone and get them to experience new things. Also, while blogging you can discuss certain issues: political, cultural and etc. People will respond to your thoughts and you will get to see how other people feel about that particular issue. It will make you see outside of the box and consider other peoples' opinions.
